Remote Mountain Cabin - Suikerbos

The Suikerbos mountain cabin is situated just off Route 62 near the town of Joubertina tucked in the Kouga mountains. As you drive through the property you pass the main farm house then start to climb the mountain, once you reach the peak you see the cabin for the first time right on the edge of the hill overlooking the Baviaanskloof mountain range setting the perfect scene for off grid living. Due to the location of this cabin there is no power or cell service however the cabin is fully equipped with candles to light up the entire place at night, along with gas appliances. This is not an issue with the mesmerising panoramic views to immerse yourself in, from the untouched natural fynbos all around and the Baviaanskloof as its backdrop!

This cabin is an open plan living, dining & bedroom area with a spare bedroom sleeping 4 guests. It has a fully equipped self-catering kitchen with all sorts of quirky antique kitchen appliances giving it a real old barn feel. With an indoor fireplace to warm up the cabin cosily on those cool winter nights. The lounge is located overlooking the stoep and the unveiling views.

With many hiking trails around the property one can enjoy the surrounding attractions such as the natural cycad forest, the river, Boesman art as well as highest point at the trig beacon. Along with some 4x4 trails.

This spot is perfect for nature lovers or those looking for a place to switch off, relax and unwind. Enjoy the fresh air and untouched views. Below is a video tour of this cosy cabin in the mountains.
