The Fishermans Cottage is situated on the R400 between Jansenville & Somerset East, it is the ideal getaway from the city as you drive into the Karoo landscapes with straight open roads. Driving to this cabin is very scenic with views of the flat plains and distant mountains. Arriving in winter meant that all the rivers were dry which left us wondering why this cottage had its name. As we arrived to the farm we instantly figured it out, as we were situated on about the biggest dam we could see for a long way, due to these flat landscapes we could even see the Darlington dam 60km in front of us. This property borders the Greater Addo, with some of their own wildlife for viewing on game drives.
This cottage has 2 bedrooms sleeping 4 guests along with your pets! With a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, an indoor fireplace & outdoor braai. Its the perfect place for some quality family time without disturbances. You can wander the property be foot or bicycle to the other dams or to view the surrounding farming. Its a good spot for bird viewing especially if you're looking for the biggest flock of geese you'll ever see.
Its definitely a great spot for some relaxation where your dogs can run free amongst the Karoo environment. Have a look at the virtual tour below in our YouTube video
